Sales

The main objectives of installing a conveyor are to automate production, improve efficiency, increase productivity and make the flow of production easier to follow.

Cobalt Conveyors specialises in all forms of material handling solutions, whatever your business environment or sector. Whether you require a small one-off standard conveyor, or a fully designed and installed conveyor system customised to meet your exact requirements, we will deliver it via our professional service.

From an initial discussion to assess your requirements, leading to an in-depth on-site evaluation, Cobalt’s engineers will take into account key factors such as your industry type, the full specification of your product, the speed of production, space constraints and whether the new system needs to link in with any other existing equipment.

In practice this means that when you first make contact with Cobalt Conveyors, our sales office will collect the initial details of your conveyor needs. If your requirements can be met from our standard range of modular conveyors – whether belt, chain or roller - your enquiry will be handed straight to our Project Manager who will brief our factory on the specifications and deadline for your project.

However, if your conveyor requirements are bespoke or out of the ordinary, the project details will be handed to our design team who will liaise with you to develop an appropriate solution and produce 3D CAD drawings for you to sign off. Once this stage of the process is complete, the specifications will be handed to our Project Manager who will then brief our factory team on the detailed manufacturing and installation requirements.

Design

Design

Following this stage, Cobalt provides the client with fully annotated plans via its CAD system. These plans provide the detailed blueprint for the project, to which modifications can be made prior to manufacture as appropriate. Should the project require it, we can also convert the flat plans to a full computer simulation to demonstrate the synchronicity of the new conveyor system.

It is important to remember that unlike many of our competitors, we are not bound to one type of conveyor system. This enables us to ensure that clients have the right conveyor for the right application. Indeed, in the past we have delivered systems that incorporated up to five different types of conveyor.

For complete conveyor systems, Cobalt is also able to incorporate and integrate additional pieces of equipment within the design to provide you with a full turnkey solution. Examples include flow wrappers, shrink wrap machines, check weighers, metal detectors, filling machines, robotic pick and place systems and coding systems.

Cobalt also custom designs and builds efficient control panels, using only the best-quality PLCs, HMIs, inverters and control components. This guarantees a long-lasting, production-optimising control panel – one you can ‘fit and forget’.

Many of our large blue-chip clients have to work to strict company standards in terms of mechanical and electrical practices, control panel specifications, installation and wiring.

Cobalt is well versed in ensuring that all the work we carry out meets these strict criteria. Our clients’ standards are our standards, and we like to think of ourselves as the team that works within your team.

Installation

Installation

Once a conveyor or conveyor system is ready for installation, Cobalt will assign a team of highly qualified, trained and experienced engineers to the project (both mechanical and electrical, as appropriate).

Our teams wear the latest fully branded personal protection equipment, and provide a courteous and flexible service on site, while at the same time avoiding long production delays or downtime wherever possible.

Prior to any installation Cobalt will prepare detailed method statements on all aspects of the work, including both mechanical and electrical elements. Risk assessment statements will also be provided in advance of our team arriving on site.

Commissioning is the time when we make sure that our conveyors will deliver what is expected of them time and again. Cobalt teams will not leave site until the equipment has met with the client’s full approval and has been physically signed off.

Ongoing Maintenance

Ongoing Maintenance

Cobalt’s conveyors are covered by a 12-month warranty as standard and we endeavour to respond to any breakdown within a 24-hour period. Should our clients wish, they can also take out an ongoing maintenance contract with us to ensure a longer lifespan for their equipment and less production downtime.
