New Sister Company for Cobalt Conveyors
Merseyside based Cobalt Conveyors has welcomed the launch of a new project management sister company, Cobalt Projects Ltd. In addition to both businesses being a part of the Cobalt Group, the ties between the two associate businesses are closer than most, as the new Cobalt Projects Managing Director is Philip Turner, father of Cobalt Conveyors’ Managing Director, Simon Turner.
West Lancashire based Cobalt Projects has been established to deliver quality project
management across a range of disciplines. Working in tandem with associate company Cobalt
Conveyors, it enables parent company, the Cobalt Group to deliver comprehensive turnkey
systems for manufacturers across many sectors including warehousing, clothing, foods and
cosmetics, automotive and engineering. Although Cobalt Projects will take on any aspect of
project management, its specialties include: Mezzanine floors, goods and passenger lifts,
garment handling systems, overhead conveyor systems and live storage.
Simon Turner has been running Cobalt Conveyors since October 2007 whilst his father Philip was
the driving force behind Peer Conveyor for over a decade and more recently a Senior Partner in
the Skelmersdale based Conveyors UK Ltd.
Philip Turner, Managing Director, Cobalt Projects explained his decision to join the Cobalt Group:
“Having come to the decision that I wanted to take on a new challenge,
initially I was considering working for my son’s company, Cobalt Conveyors,
but I soon realised that there was a gap in the marketplace that could be met
by the launch of a new, yet complementary company and so Cobalt Projects
was born.”
Simon Turner, Managing Director Cobalt Conveyors is delighted to be working in collaboration
with his father:
“Cobalt Conveyors has enjoyed considerable success over the last year and we
were keen to develop our offering to the marketplace, but uneasy as to how to
implement such expansion at this difficult time. When my father agreed to take
ownership of the Cobalt brand and establish a company to work alongside Cobalt
Conveyors, it meant that the name ‘Cobalt’ could become synonymous with
delivering complete, integrated turnkey systems encompassing so much more than
just conveyors. ”
